My project is called a foot in each door.
Over the past 8 weeks I have been looking into Indian culture and how it resides in the UK. I decided to make a publication about the profound link between people and the places they immigrate to, specifically India and London – Southall. Southall is a place in London where community and culture booms, it serves as a hub where south asians can express themselves, providing a sense of belonging, keeping heritage alive and offering a nurturing environment for people of the same culture to grow up in and feel connected to their culture away from home.
most of my research was photography based, however trial and error with language was super important for the fluidity of my work, and to create different tones of voice.
