My project is about the lack of understanding of women’s bodies in the medical industry, the hardships of being mis/undiagnosed and how such behaviour breads shame and neglect. I mainly focussed on mis/undiagnosed of endometrioses and cysts; how so many woman are affected yet symptoms are swept under the rug because of lack of education and the fact they don’t show up on scans, therefore woman are not taken seriously. My garment uses elements such as the drop hole with red latex/felt to show viewers what women have been taught to always hide, and using negative images to draw in those who may not want to have these conversations and force them to.
