From a multifaceted practice that consists of a combination of sound work, performance and painting comes the collective SERA, taken from my stage presence, Seraphim. It is a series of paintings that embody how communication can be a layered configuration. As a neurodivergent artist, my work conveys the things that I want to express by creating a means of artistic translation of how I process personal experiences through sensory patterns.  It is an alternative to using linguistics, communicating by means of capturing body language, movement, eye contact, lighting, and colour which connects all four mediums that I use as an artist. First comes sound, a production that emulates the energy that manifests within and around us. It communicates without words, sets the mood and determines the temperament and tone. SERA’s foundation plays on atmospheric sound design that one would find eerie and insidiously ominous. From this, births the medium of performance, which acts as an extension to the sound. It is the physical personification of what is insinuated in a theatrical way. It captures what sound cannot, acting as a second language. It gives my work weight and acts as a branch into my next medium, paint. The collection of paintings, SERA, forges a bond through the whole practice as I become my own muse. Lastly, Acting as an introspective window to how I process sensory stimulants, I attempt to share with observers the things that are emphasised in my head when viewing and listening to my own creations by making sculpted ‘portals’. These portals invite the audience into my world and head.
