My FMP final piece is titled ‘Judgement Day’ – with it existing as an exploration into how one’s last meal might act as a form currency to the afterlife. Through the shared ‘resting place’ of a filing cabinet sourced from the KU furniture store, I have cast the last meals of John F. Kennedy, South Vietnamese Prime Minister Ngô Đình Diệm, and Army Sergeant 19465383 in resin. These meals sit upon floating plinths reworked with lazy-susan bearings so that they spin. On top of the unit is a black button that, when pressed, triggers an AI generated voice of India Fisher, the narrator of Masterchef UK, who leads the viewer through the contents of the cabinet.
