My final major project (FMP) has focussed on folding and specifically the satisfaction gained through folding. My final piece has been influenced by transformational furniture and it has become a multifunctional piece of furniture that can transform from a folded state into a chair or a table. It uses dowel plugs to lock and secure each transformation, giving it structure and strength for when it is in use. I have also designed a folding cushion that attaches to the chair, providing comfort to the back and seat. When not in use, the furniture neatly and easily folds into a 600x600mm square, 70mm deep, which makes it very portable and easy to store.
