My project explores the ways politicians try to come across relatable as a way of connecting with the general public. From failed media appearances to the scandals they never planned for us to see, it often has a bad outcome for said politicians. At the end of the day we don’t see politicians as normal people, they have responsibility and power that we, the general public, do not. When they attempt to act like one of us, it looks forced, awkward and bizarre.

When politicians act like normal people, normal people act like politicians. We mimic their job when arguing over politics at the dinner table, breaking table manners with rowdy shouting the same way they break protocol in parliament. They mimic us during their campaign trips to the local chippy, pub or even what clothes they wear.

The question is are we the same or not?
