As a director of 4 narrative and 3 experimental short films I have developed my skills as a visual storyteller and filmmaker across all elements of production, learning particularly how to lead a team in this endeavour. I have worked with crews large and small, as well as some individual projects, leading them creatively to a shared vision. I have worked with a variety of actors, professional and amateur, method and theatrical, to create nuanced performances whilst working in an ensemble. I’ve gained experience directing extras and crowd scenes.
In my other speciality as editor I have developed, across 8 short films, a vast array of techniques in effects work and traditional scene cutting, working on a range of material from experimental abstract imagery to intimate conversational scenes. I’ve edited both my own work and films for other directors.
In my last project, The Ballad of Squeaky Clean Mo, I put to use all of the experience I had gained in directing to lead my team creatively on my most ambitious project yet.
