The task of this semester’s thesis project was to design a winery, which will be not only an industrial building implementing its functions but also a new public space in the town of Pinhão. The goal was for the design to become a bridge, which connects people and places.
That was the main reason for the name of this project – “Ponte do Vinho do Pinhão“, which in English translates as “the “wine bridge“ of Pinhão“.
“Ponte do Vinho do Pinhão“, which translated from Portuguese means “the wine bridge of Pinhão“, became a new connection between people and space in a town, located in the heart of the oldest winemaking region of Portugal – Douro Valley.
