Drape is an armchair aimed at making the upholstery business more environmentally conscious. Traditionally, upholstery furniture is sent to landfill at the end of its life as the products are hard to clean, upkeep or dismantle. Drape aims to be both easy to upkeep by the user and also be able to be dismantled into its separate components and recycled. With the lack of glues and foam making this process even easier.
The fabric cushions are simply “draped” over the fabric structure, mimicking that of fabric draping in fashion design, and so are easy to remove and up keep. In addition a more organic aesthetic is created and the chair itself is, as a result, more inviting.
Drape is aimed at making upholstery a more environmental practice, and making armchairs in landfill a thing of the past.
