My project is about object lifespans. I have made a series of steel stools with clear lacquer patterns. Over time, through weathering and use, the exposed steel will rust revealing a decorative pattern. The product aims to change peoples perceptions of decay, encouraging celebration of degradation rather than deeming it a sign of obsolescence.
They belong outdoors and can be watered with the rest of the plants.
