My project explores the simple question of ‘How Are You?’ as well as the history of health, delving into the attitudes towards mental health throughout generations and the change in treatments over the years. My original intention was to better understand how our feelings and attitudes towards the idea of both mental and physical health are influenced by different factors.

Within my final piece, I am communicating the difference in our understanding of health throughout generations as well as how people discuss health in conversation. In my opinion, asking ‘How Are You?’ at the beginning of a conversation is perceived as small talk. However, asking a more specific question such as ‘How Were You Yesterday?’ leads to a more genuine answer.
