My project is called ‘Faded Glory’.

Over the course of my FMP I have explored past narratives, the passage of time and its effects on places. I wanted to tell compelling stories, document change over time and encourage reflection on the past.

My film blends real footage with animation, showcasing Surrey in a new light—revealing its hidden gems and forgotten histories. Central to the narrative is St. Borromeo’s church, a place full of captivating narratives and interesting backstories. Through my work, I’m out to debunk the “boring Surrey” stereotype, inviting viewers to dive into the unexpected gems this place has to offer. Through this project, I hope to celebrate the uniqueness of my local area and encourage others to rediscover it with fresh eyes. This project isn’t just about celebrating my local local area; it’s a call for everyone to embrace the uniqueness of their own area.
