“How to Be an NPC in a Hotel” is a pixel art style comic. In July 2023, I began my internship at the front desk of Madison Hotel, which turned out to be an interesting and unforgettable experience. The front desk job was very busy; in addition to greeting guests, we often helped out in various departments. This gave me the opportunity to observe the hotel’s operations and discover some mysterious corners and strange passages within the building. I felt like I was in a game, pretending to be an NPC serving the guests, gradually gaining experience and leveling up. As an experimental attempt, I illustrated a few memorable stories and combined them with an 8-bit game style, hoping to showcase my perspective in this way.
