What does it mean to have Belonging? Is it a place or is it a feeling? In my FMP I explore and celebrate my background as a British Filipina third culture kid. Through site visits and material testing, I design a product which marries the cultures within a home context for Filipino migrants.
Using the question “How can our homes represent our home countries?”, I pushed my project to focus on the material and processes from the UK to create a knitted cushion which is loyal to the visual language from a Filipino woven textile.
The home is where the heart is.
