A Park For All

The project is an experimental attempt in landscape urbanism to meet various needs, aiming to evolve into a place where nature, animals, and humans are all protagonists.

Tolworth Court Farm Fields, designated as a Local Nature Reserve (LNR), lies on the boundary between ‘preservation’ and ‘neglect’. With urbanization and rising population density, local residents increasingly need spaces for enjoying nature, as well as cultural and experiential activities. Based on the keywords “Strip”, “Pathway”, and “Graduality”, we propose methods for the sustainable coexistence and evolution of this land.

#Strip: This refers to a methodology for managing large areas of land, simultaneously suggesting landscaping that considers eco-friendly drainage.

#Pathway: This serves as a conduit for the integration of fragmented areas and the experience of the landscape.

#Graduality: This is an element that enhances sustainability.

By incorporating these concepts, we envision a park that not only preserves the natural environment but also fosters a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, providing a space for both passive enjoyment and active engagement.
