Throughout this project I’ve wanted to find out why love is so sought after. I believe I have answered this question along the way, the reason why people reach for love so often is because of the stories others talk about, they want to share that same experience of what love can feel like. I wanted to make this experience physical and real through my work, a way to feel others love through the stories that are told within the book and quilt I’ve created. Each individual patch symbolises a piece of someone’s life — heartbreak, love, friendship, family or even self-love; each story holds a certain amount of significance and can change the trajectory of their relationships, the thing that shapes us.
