This project celebrates the ‘original nine’ tennis players who fought for equal pay in professional tennis during the 1970s. The front design of the cards is based on the format of Match Attax cards and gives information about each player. GF Smith Nucleur Acid paper was used for the card box and Introductory card. It borrowed from the visual language of tennis balls. A Sliver foil block element gives a high-quality finish to the look and feel of the cards. The back of the cards tells the narrative of the events. The order is indicated by joining up a larger shape based on the ‘battle of the sexes’ match point’.

A player card pack that celebrates and tells the story of the ‘Original Nine’ tennis players. These nine female players fought for more equal pay in professional tennis and formed the Women’s Tennis Association in the 1970s.
