These shelves combine two materials that are not commonly used in the design of shelving, this allows the shelves to stand out as an original piece and to catch the eye of an observer. The design of strapped frames the objects placed on the shelf, making not only the shelf but the object that’s upon it to be the centre of attention in the room. This promotes the idea of showing your possessions and making them priority of the place. Strapped is made using 2mm aluminium sheet which is powder coated light grey to give it a clean, thin and protective finish. The Straps on the sides are made from polyester webbing, this allows the user to pick a colour to match the shelves surrounding environment.
With both materials working to their strengths, it allows the shelf to not only be lightweight and thin giving it a premium look, but also allows the straps to frame your possessions inside of them. The fixings on the top of the strap adds insight as to how the shelf is fixed to the wall, while also not taking the attention away from the shelf itself.
