The Lady of The Sycamore Fig (2024), is a short film that evokes imagery from the fig tree extract in Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar (1963). At a crossroads in life, a woman finds herself dreaming at the roots of a fig tree. In her indecision at which path to take, her dreams rot away. Here, the boundaries between the spiritual and physical realm become blurred. Olive’s work takes a multidisciplinary approach, combining illustration, animation, digital, printmaking and hand crafted processes.
