Throughout my research I focused on “repairing without being asked” and specifically researched into guerilla gardening but with a twist, I connected myself as a guerilla fixer. For my final outcome I created a series of repairs that I did around my local area and barge walk in Kingston Upon Thames. By making those repairs using materials such as timber, zip ties and cement I believe that I fulfilled the intention that was written in my project proposal but not exactly as expected because my research was leading me into other directions. I started of by using clay as a material that would be used to cover the holes and cracks in the streets but after going out and trying to repair the cracks, I noticed how clay was too tough of a material and It would not fill every detail in the crack successfully. From then on I went onto using plaster which worked and it successfully filled the cracks but I needed a more durable material since the cracks would be walked on every day from pedestrians. That is why I landed on waterproof cement which would hold up well especially with the uk’s weather.

I concentrated on “repairing without being asked” during my research, particularly looking into guerilla gardening, but I also gave my self the role of a guerilla fixer. As my final project, I made a number of repairs that I completed around the area of Kingston Upon Thames’s and barge walk.
