My project is a publication about explosions around which I have collected various types of explosions, both natural and man-made. My goal is to connect explosions to the deeper meanings behind them. By asking the central question – what is an explosion? I give the answer through a combination of images and text. In this way, the reader can see the deep connection between seemingly unrelated elements.

Furthermore, in today’s turbulent global situation, I want to stimulate readers to think about explosions, encourage them to explore and think deeply. And to form their own answers to the question, “What is an explosion?”

My name is Zihong Du, a graphic designer from China who lives in London. My work is usually inspired by my hobbies and the cultures in which I’m interested. I’m good at using a strong and straight style to influence audiences. At the same time, I’d enjoy creating new cultures for the topics that I am interested.
