My concept is the so called utopia expected by others. I used the word ‘so called’ since I found that the world ‘utopia’ itself means the place that does not exist during my research. In a lot of books and films, people are always trying to create utopia, which usually leads to dystopia in the end. I wanted to show my guessing of the so called utopia by people’s look and clothes. I think garments are usually seen as one of the reflections of culture and environment. The silhouette was inspired by brutalist architecture, which is one of the symbols of dystopia according to my research. The material was inspired by the plants and nature (which is considered to be a symbol of utopia). I wanted to create a combination of artificial things with nature as I learnt from my primary and secondary research that the utopia most people were expecting was a combination of both technology and nature.
